The Luangwa Valley has three national parks; South Luangwa, Luambe and North Luangwa. North Luangwa National Park is roughly 5000 squared kilometers. It is the wildest area in the whole valley since it has only recently been open to tourism. This is where Luangwa North Camp is located, on the magnificent banks of the Luangwa River. The surroundings are wonderful and within a private concesion. The National Park has several areas of interest; some of these areas are exclusive to four tour operators in th park, the average group per concesion is six people at a time which makes the 5400km of the park one of the most exclusive N.P in Africa. The park is classified into different sectors, some areas that more sensitive and are specially controlled , such as the Santuary area, where the reintroduction Rhino Project is located or thewild and remote areas called “Wilderness Areas”, where Luangwa North Camp is located.
